Simply Indian - where food matters

Simply Indian.....

Buy your own drink - so that they can focus on food!

This is what Timeout says:

A small, attractive modern Asian restaurant, Simply Indian is to be found just moments from South London’s Borough High Street and the famed food market. The restaurant’s unfussy black and yellow interior leads in to a light, airy dining room decorated in white with a minimalist style that maximises space and produces a buzzy, brasserie-esque atmosphere helped along by friendly service from staff who work to your time scales, speeding up your lunch break meals while providing a more leisurely experience at other times. Simply Indian’s menu embraces the most popular cuisine styles of India, serving traditional curries, exotic regional dishes and street food style thalis too, all cooked fresh on the premises using appropriate high quality ingredients and to authentic recipes. The restaurant has a BYO policy, which only serves to make dining here even more affordable, the prices low for the area, especially when it comes to Simply Indian’s trademark buffets.

It appears that I may have jinxed our dinner with my preamble. Sorry everyone ! Thank goodness the company made up for a rather poor meal. Gulab jamun chopped up & drizzled with cherry sauce ? For goodness sakes !!! What is Indian cuisine turning into ... Hmm an English meal served by a brown person!

Actually this cafe (not restaurant) , does not deserve a star rating . More like a negative 5 - positively disgusting .

Hi Chandu, unfortunately I am tied up at work and won't be able to make it... Apologize for the last minute cancellation.

My track record at Indian restaurants in the last month have been rather disappointing, to say the least. Am sincerely in the hope that this meal will redeem my faith in venturing into the lesser known venues.
