Detailed Version -
Trevor Lock is probably best known for his work with Russell Brand on BBC Radio, where he built up a cult following, telling bizarre meandering stories. Now Comedy Comedy meetup members get to see the comedian in the flesh and witness his weird and wonderful brain at work, as he is performing in the Bankers on July 20th.
Lock's stand-up credentials are impressive, with him performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as well as supporting both Stewart Lee and Russell Brand on UK tours. In terms of both his manner and his material, Lock isn't a typical comedian; his persona is polite and earnest, with the comic appearing to only want to share his stories with his audience, rather than making them laugh. Lock often starts with what seems to be an everyday story before gradually introducing stranger elements. Never failing to be interesting as well as funny, Lock will bend your mind and, most importantly, leave an impression after you leave.
I've limited the RSVP numbers to 65 as that is close to the max capacity of the room. If you can't go, can you change your RSVP to No please as other people will want to take your place. Come early to avoid the disappointment of the room being full and not getting in. There will be other members of the public there also so we will want to get in before them. The room is being opened early for our group at 8pm. It will be very easy to find us. If you have never come to a comedy meetup before, this will be a good one to start off. The price of the ticket is €10 on the door.
My number is[masked] so you can text or ring me if you don't recognize the group when you come in and I will go and meet you. After the gig, the room upstairs will stay open for the meetup group and we will stay for a drink and a chat for around an hour or so and we may head on somewhere else if people are up for it.
