Did you know that laughter is primarily a social signal that binds people together?? With reported health and mood benefits that contribute to overall social, mental, and physical well-being. Not to mention that its an extremely pleasurable feel-good activity. So what better way to spend an evening than in the company of other like minded folk where the objective of the evening is to sit back and be entertained by some seriously funny dudes?
The Irish are renowned for their wit and banter, and enjoyment of a good yarn, and the sheer number of comedy clubs and comedy festivals in Dublin reflects this: International Bar, Captial Comedy Club, Laughter Lounge, Carlsberg Comedy Festival, Bulmers Comedy Festival, etc, to name but a few, plus you could probably name a few dozen high quality Irish comedians without stretching the brain cells too hard... so why not get out and about and have some guy on stage do all the work to entertain you, while you sit back and guffaw over a pint or two in good company??
In the current era of recession-obsession, you couldn't ask for a cheaper night of entertainment, with many comedy venues charging as little as a fiver entrance fee, and will negotiate group rates for the larger venues. Also as this is a new group, new organisers of events, comedy nights, improv nights, comedy films, etc are encouraged. There are dozens of high quality comedy gigs and events on in Dublin every night of the week, so come along and be entertained. Great way to break the ice with meeting new folk and have a laugh over a pint or two. . . . .
Anyone interested in being an assistant organiser?? It would just involve throwing out a phone number or arranging a rendez-vous area so people have a point of contact to find the group on the night. Simples!!
Great to see there are loads of fellow comedy lovers signed up!! Events to follow....
