One of my favourite graphic novels, so I might be a little biased. If you haven't read it, you certainly should and if you have, it certainly bears re-reading. Alan Moore has a wonderful way with words - some of which he even set to music (we'll be discussing whether or not that technique works!) and V is a wonderfully enigmatic character - a symbol of anarchy and freedom in a dystopia not so far removed from modern society.
I've booked a table for 10 at Red Bones - it sounds pretty casual, so adding or subtracting a couple shouldn't be a problem. We'll meet at the bar, grab a drink and discuss the merits of the book. No particular format, but I might come up with a list of questions which we could follow or completely ignore. I figure we'll probably grab something to eat while we're at it, but shouldn't be a problem if you're in the 'drinks only' category.
How to get hold of a copy:
Strangely, this is the one book I've seen over and over again in the Boston Public Library - (far more common than the possibly better known Watchmen). You should also be able to find it pretty much anywhere - comic shops; booksllers; Amazon will have about a million copies!
About the meetup
This is a way to get to know people with an interest in comics / graphic novels / illustrated fiction. You don't have to know anything about it - you might have been a comic book reader all of your life or you might still be confused by reading panel layouts. We won't judge either way!
