Planting day at Baring Head

Join the Friends of Baring Head for our first planting day for the year!

The main aim of the day is to plant ngaio along the river banks.

This will also require us to cut the gorse and stack it around the plants (to keep the sheep from damaging them), mulching the plants with water weed, and we will also search for any wandering willy that has been brought down in the floods and remove it before it becomes established.

Those of you that came to the planting last year will know the spot.

The working bee will start at 10am but if you need a lift we will meet at 9am at Wellington Railway Station. Offers to carpool greatly appreciated! If we can't get enough drivers we can hook in to the other volunteers who will be happy to take us :)

Don't forget to bring water, snacks and clothes for ALL kinds of weather!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
