clifton terrace reserve
Actually the other way round! The plan is to spend an hour or so after work blitzing weeds in a small inner-city reserve, then down tools and head to the pub for a well deserved pint!
The Clifton Terrace Project is turning a neglected corridor of public land along the edge of the Terrace and the adjacent motorway into a native forest. A lot of progress has been made, but there's still a long way to go to achieve the goal. Our help would be greatly appreciated, and we can really make a difference in just one hour or so.
This is the first beer and weed event of the season. We are going to do some epic, industrial scale, tradescantia removal (wandering willie) near the clifton terrace cable car stop. You will be amazed at how much progress we can make in a short period of time - it feels very satisfying - and the pint of beer afterwards will taste so much better than normal for your efforts!
The plan is to meet at 5.45pm in front of the James Cook Hotel Lambton Quay entrance (head down the little lane just off Lambton Quay, not far from Cable Car lane). It is easiest if we head off as one group. If you can be there one or two minutes early that would be great. If you are running late, give me a call on oh two one[masked] and I’ll try and guide you in!
You don’t need to bring any tools, but you may want to bring some clothes and footwear that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty. A pair of gloves would be good too.
