The Lake Worth Full Moon Drum Circle has been an organic and self-generating event for many years- well before social media came along. So this is NOT a "meetup" event, but is posted on this calendar as a public service.
Its success is due in large part to the spirit of cooperation and unity among the family of drummers and dancers who return each month to celebrate the full moon with rhythm and dance.
Lets make it a point to create a "TRUE CIRCLE" as this practice holds the spiritual energy for the group, keeping the UNITY and PEACEFUL FUN inside.
That being said in order to keep this beautiful gathering growing and going, If you plan to attend please bear in mind that the circle is held in a public space and that there are rules. If EVERYONE observes these rules, the group will remain welcome in Lake Worth and stay family-friendly. That means it is the responsibility of each participant for speaking up if they see behavior that could spoil it for everyone else. Unfortunately, If after a warning, the behavior persists, then the group will single out the rule-breaker and stop playing altogether.
Following these rules will ensure that this event remains a safe and family-friendly event:
1) Lake Worth Code: NO ALCOHOL, NO DRUGS, NO PETS, NO FIRE
2) State law: No gathering on the beach during turtle-nesting season March 1 thru October 31st. (The full moon is when turtles lay their eggs.)
3) Drum Circle Safety and Etiquette: No running inside the circle; No poi or hoops inside the circle; No smoking inside the circle. Spectators, please move to the outside.
In case of rain there’s shelter under the adjacent pavilion. Parking is $2/hour, change or credit cards (The meters don't take bills because they used to get clogged up with wet dollars). There are public bathrooms located behind the Casino building restaurants.
