Re: [The-Complete-Photographer] Chihuly night on the 23rd is Sold Out already!

Clearly I messed up and waited too long.  : (

However, Dean Singleton and Ken Morton are really sharp and have a lot of experience.  If we are nice to them they might sign up to mentor.

Also, check out the Chihuly at Night instructions I sent out recently.  In particular, watch your exposure for red and, to a lesser extent, yellow art.   Larry Genender found he needed a -2EV exposure to get good detail in the red art.  It would definitely be worthwhile to be familiar with the RGB histogram.  On Canon cameras when reviewing pictures the "Display" key will toggle through several information options until the RGB histogram is displayed.  Nikon and other cameras have a similar feature.

The RGB histogram also helps immensely when photographing red and yellow flowers and birds.  For months after I first started I couldn't figure out why all the red roses just looked like blobs of red.  Even though they were "perfectly exposed" according to the meter they looked awful.  The RGB histogram is your best friend on the camera!

Thanks . . . Guy

I do not have a ticket.  For those who are going, check the notes I published earlier today.

The next available dates are the 31st (Halloween), Nov 1 and nov 5.    I suspect Thursday the 1st is a better day than the last day, Monday.

If there is interest in a second fall back  we will set up another meet up for the 1st and I will buy a ticket ASAP!

Thanks . . . Guy
