All comments/communication very helpful. Maybe we shall meet another eve. Thanks!

My apologies to all. Patty's show was my first time signing up for a MeetUp. Posted a message about having an extra reserved seat, but when no response came I wasn't sure anyone was out there! Read these comments today.
Hope all who went enjoyed the show & the beautiful evening.

Thanks Janice. Appreciate you writing. None of us saw the post otherwise we definitely would have gotten in touch and invited you over to our spread on the lawn. Like Bracha, no hard feelings as to me, its more other people's loss than mine if folks don't show up. What irked me was that we were nice enough to sit at the meetup spot til eight fifteen and only Danielle was nice enough to let us know she was on the way. Take care.
I saw your post & figured somebody would snap it up! And that you'd sit there instead, which was understandable ;-) Next time then--don't give up on meetup, it usually does work out better than this.
Had a great time with Bracha and Mike last night. Looking forward to doing it again soon (next week?)! :-)
A note on an event organizer's general perspective. Events require...organizing: choosing the best times & places in reliance on group size from rsvps, responding to all comments promptly (sometimes with info already provided), giving out cell #s to strangers, & monitoring the actual meeting up (finding pple & texting/posting). It's easy to assume your individual responses won't matter, which leads to the bystander effect--not a road you want to take. I made 2 great friends last nite but if no one out of 25 people had shown...well you know how that would feel. So please, just communicate. No hard feelings--looking forward to (actually ;-) seeing everyone at future meetups.

My apologies -couldn't make it tonight. Hope you all have fun- great night for it.

Thanks Stephanie for at least letting us know you couldn't make it.
Good show. Lame turnout. You people who rsvp then don't show up, and who are too lame to change your rsvp....you all Suck!! Its all good though cause the 3 of us had a good time. I'm far from perfect but really..all of you have serious decent human being issues. And chances are a few with mental issues as well. Why rsvp and not show up or take the one second it takes to change your rsvp?? Bunch of lame brains!! And if ya don't like what I have to say..oh well. Your loss.
So we're here..anyone showing up? Text me if you'd like[masked]
Almost there. Orange sweater & short curly hair.
Hey there, lovers of good music in the great outdoors! I've cross-posted this on the NY Folk Music Meetup Group: http://www.meetup.com/folk-47/events/122240732/
As I've never been to the bandshell, we're currently working on a good place to meet, if anyone's got suggestions.

Hey Bracha, a good spot to meet at would be right at the entrance to the park at ninth St. And prospect park west. There's a huge monument right there that would be a good marker to meet up at.
Thanks Mike! Let's meet at the monument at 8:00. Here's a bio btw: http://bricartsmedia....
You're welcome. Just so you know..with the concert starting at 8:15..if we get there at 8 chances are we won't get seats. I'm fine with that and don't mind standing as it might be better anyhow for getting to know people but if folks would rather get seats then it might be better to try and make it 7:45pm. I'm fine either way. There's also a grassy area that alot of people bring blankets/picnics but that also can fill up pretty fast. Its kind of hit and miss there. You never really know...some shows get very crowded and some don't.
Actually..with 8 people coming, then we should probably try for the grassy area if people wanna bring sheets or blankets. There's also plenty of food and drinks to buy there if anybody wants.
The first show of the season usually is pretty crowded, though Patty Griffin is not as high profile as Jimmy Cliff, who played last season's first show (which, you may remember, was beyond packed). ;-)
Good plan, let's do 7:45 instead.
Yeah Jimmy Cliff was wall to wall people. She's pretty well known though and I have a feeling alot of people are gonna go so 7:45 definitely will be a better time to meet and find a spot inside. Also, they say her and Robert Plant are now shacked up so who knows..maybe he'll make an appearance :-)

Thanks Danielle :-D. I gotta ask you something when I see ya about that real estate conversation we had.

Hi Mike, I just realized that I RSVPed to 2 meetup groups for this concert. Whichever group I can find, I will be with. Text/call - happy to discuss the real estate thing.
Hey Danielle, I'll be there at the monument right at 7:45 if ya want otherwise I'll text or call once inside
Actually I'm gonna be there at 7:30. Just about thee. I'm. Wearing a black cap, glasses, brown loose jeans if anyone else is there early. Blue and white button down..
Where exactly is the meet-up? I am going to head over to the double windsor (bar/restaurant) at 210 Prospect Park West @16. Look for a guy with a St. Louis Carnal shirt around 5-7. I am the bald guy far right on my profile picture.
We are meeting at the monument at PPW & 9th St. at 7:45 & will then get on line. Some are arriving early to get a good place in line so hopefully once in the park we can join up with them. My cell is[masked] if you can't find us.
Patty would be my very first Meet up. I pick up 2 WFUV VIP tickets, which include access to the Celebrate Brooklyn Friends tent and 2 reserved seats near the stage. Looks as though my friend will have to cancel, so I will have one extra ticket.

Next: Invite friends
This a group for all women and men, who really love live music and want to go to concerts but can't always find someone to go with.
Not everyone in the group will like the same music and/or bands, but that's cool.
So if a show is coming up that you want to go to but have no friend to join you, post it and I am sure people will join! Be proactive when you post ideas!
It's about enjoying the show together and having fun with like minded people, and discover some new bands and music along the way!
