Mobile Dev Week Meetup!

The Connecticut Salesforce Developer User Group is fortunate to have been selected to participate in the Salesforce Mobile Dev Week! http://www2.developerforce.com/mobile/developer-week.

This was an "invite only" engagement. 40 Salesforce DUGs from around the world will be meeting during this week, and all will be discussing mobile development and the new Salesforce Platform Mobile Services.

To get you started, below is a link to some information on Salesforce Platform Mobile Services:

Reading between the lines, this seems like a stretch to believe it's going to be possible given that the Apex REST API doesn't support unauthenticated requests .. but I hope I'm wrong

I believe this is going to be possible with 2.0. I just talked to a colleague about it and he had said this functionality was going to be coming out in 2.0, and that is estimated to be released in June. Once released there will be an extensive dev guide along with it. As of right now, I am not sure if it is possible with 1.5 (I haven’t tested it) but it should be possible with 2.0 when that becomes available.

Any info on a non-authenticated (anonymous) context such as serving

Per the question I asked of Samantha about using the Mobile SDK via Sites (anonymous) or Portal -- there is a path for Portal licenses -- I asked for more detail about anonymous (Sites) so we'll see what she says

    To: David Esposito Hi David,

Here is the answer for the portal use case (this is identical for hybrid).

The PM for the SDK assured me that in 2.0 the dev guide will definitely cover this topic. Thanks for the great question, and for tuning in for the webcast today! Let me know if I can answer any other questions.

    Cheers,

Sounds interesting; can't wait to see how this changes the Mobile SDK/Container they released last year during DF
