If you are unable to make the first rehearsal, don't worry about it! We never have 100% attendance the first night! Usually the first night is a lot of handing out music, and getting everyone's contact info. I look forward to meeting you!
The Connecticut Yankee Chorale is a community choir located in Torrington CT. We are a non-audition group that is always looking for new members. We have members from all over Western Connecticut. The Chorale puts on two concerts a year, in December and May. This will be out 28th year. If you like to sing and have fun, we hope you will join us!
Amelia Nagoski- Director/Conductor
Dr. Amelia Nagoski has been director of the Connecticut Yankee Chorale since 2006. She holds degrees in conducting and music education, and has taught K-12 choral and general music. She now teaches music at Western New England University, and is a regular presenter at state, regional, and national music conferences on subjects related to music-making as embodied cognition.
Joy Corrado Zublena- Accompanist
Joy Zublena is a concert pianist, accompanist, organist, and theater organist. She studied at the Hartford Conservatory, the Hartt School of Music, and Central Connecticut State University. Joy has been the musical director for many area musical productoins. A lifelong resident of Torrington, she is director of music at the First United Methodish Church in Torrington, where she direct Youth, Bell, and Senior choirs. Joy teaches piano, organ, and voice in her home studio.

The Chorale is a non-profit arts organization. Patronage support, in addition to member dues, fundraising drives and ticket sales is critical for covering our operating and performance expenses. Member dues are mandatory for all members. Dues are $70 for regular members and $25 for students. For new members, we allow a 2 week trial period before dues are payed. We also can make arrangements for 1/2 year dues as necessary.
