August's Program

Somatic Movement Therapy with Karen Kirsch As a Somatic Movement Therapist I lead explorations designed to reconnect you with your body by attending to sensation, alignment and imagination. This approach focuses the body's intelligence to reduce tension and anxiety, improve brain and physical function, thus building resources to face challenges both physical and psychological. I assist you in finding alive embodied presence while respecting your limitations.

This month at Connections I will introduce you to Somatic Therapy in concept, theory and experience.  We will do some simple, playful and inviting explorations to help you reconnect with your amazing body.  There is no right or wrong way to participate, show up, be curious, engage your senses and experience your unique gifts.

Karen holds a Masters in Somatic Psychology and is a certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst, a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist, a WA certified counselor and a dancer. Karen has worked in the field of movement, as a therapist, teacher and a dancer for over thirty years. Her passion is to help others explore their unique sense of self through movement, play and sensation. Her approach is supportive, anatomically sound and enlivening.
