The group aims to bring together African American intellectuals in the Baltimore area for the purposes of promoting cultural education, social activism, Black empowerment, Black liberation, and community service. There are several events held in the city each month that cater to these themes, including:
* open mics & poetry slams
* community forums
* plays and theatrical performances
* service projects
* cultural/music festivals
* the all-important happy hour
Please feel free to make suggestions for events or even to host an event!
"Cowardice asks the question is it safe? Expediency ask the question is it political? Vanity ask the question; is it popular? But conscience asks the question; is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor political, nor popular-but one must take it simply because it is right."-Martin Luther King Jr.
