Looks dry this weekend, so let's get a hike in! This hike was suggested and will be led by our newest member, Pete. (thanks Pete!)
First we'll go to Smith/Bybee which is about a half hour hike to the point and back where the lakes converge, then drive about a mile further northwest on Marine Drive to Kelley Point Pk which has a sign on the right just where Marine Drive starts a turn to the left over a small roadbridge. We would drive in to the second parking area (at the end of the road) and take a hike starting on the riverfront of the Columbia , around the point along the Willamette, and back thru a small bit of woods and then on improved trail back to parking lot - about an hour walk.
Bring binoculars. There should be water birds and exposed bird nests to see, and as Pete says, 'the winter woods have a beauty all their own'.
