Wild Edible Plants Workshop

Ever wanted to know how to collect delicious food wherever you are?  This will be a ramble around the park area and up the Lower McKleay trail a ways, looking at all the wild edible plants there and talking about gathering wild food.  By the time we're done you will have a good start on being able to find great food around your neighborhood or in the wild.  I have found foraging to be an amazing way to connect with Nature.  I hope you'll share your own stories and knowledge.   Bring appropriate shoes and rain gear.

(This workshop is cross-listed on Nature Connection Meetup.  If you are interested in a more intensive wild edibles workshop in a retreat setting, see the workshop offered on learn nature skills dot com.)

Hi Cader... I'm truly sorry to have missed this. The rain was a bit of a deterrent but only because I've been battling a cold. I, too, am hoping that perhaps you'll do this hike again! I'm happy we have such a great resource in you!

It was great to meet you Cader. I am inspired to keep finding and identifying plants as I go on walks and in my own yard. Thanks for all the great information and I'll see you next time!

Sorry I also missed the meet up! It had been pouring sheets of water where I live. I hope to be at another Edibles workshop.

I'm sorry I missed the meeting. Was on my way to it and got stuck in a miles-long traffic jam on Sunset Hwy. By the time I got out of it, the time to meet was long gone. The rain was no deterrent, and I do hope this meet-up of Wild Edibles happens again.

So sorry everyone, but my baby overslept and just woke up from his (much-needed) morning nap. So I won't be able to make it down in time. :( Have fun without us! Looks like lovely Oregon liquid sunshine out there. :)

I just discovered the bus will take me 1 1/2 hours to get there and I won't make it. I would love to join you . I have worked with herbs for many years in Alaska and am very interested in learning about Portlands wild plants and meet like minded people. If anyone is coming from the S.E I would love to ride share and help out with gas.My number is[masked] 4982.
    Thanks,Elizabeth

If it's raining or there's a high probability of rain Thursday I'm afraid I won't be coming. I've been fighting off something and can't afford to get sick right now. Sorry for being such a wuss! (How do you spell that word? !)

You're welcome! I appreciate the feedback I get from people about scheduling and locations, because I never know what works for people and what doesn't without it. Looking forward to meeting you, Cader

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
