Tualatin Hills Nature Park

I've never been here and it sounds well worth exploring. There are about 5 miles of easy trails, and it's right on the MAX line so we'll meet at the 158th Avenue/Merlo Rd MAX station and take the Oak Trail from there.

The rain we got cut ally added to the experience -- musky smells of the forest. It was very pleasant.

I enjoyed the walk as well. Lots of native plants and great fragrances, well, except for a few! I'm brand new but as for suggestions, I think just clear stated expectations and a reminder attached to each outing description should help? Also, maybe some didn't come because they weren't sure it would go because of the weather? I'm glad I went!

A great walk and even greater conversation.

So sorry we missed you Greg. As for the no-shows, I would love some input from you all about how to handle no-shows. It's hard to get up in the morning & actually come sometimes, I get that. But when I go to the trouble of putting these things together, & well over half the group doesn't show up, it makes me feel like stepping down & letting someone else take over. Is it really that hard to do the considerate thing & let us know you've changed your mind?

    Any one have any suggestions?

Sorry I didn't cross paths with the rest of the group. I was a little late and had to park in the parking lot off of Milikin [sp?] and just wandered through figuring our paths would meet. Anyway, I enjoyed the walk and thanks for organizing. Looking forward to actually meeting up with the group on the next one!

Looks like the weather will be decent if not stellar so we should have a pleasant hike. We'll hang around the MAX station for 10-15 minutes waiting for latecomers. If you got held up and don't manage to connect with us before we head out, call my cel[masked] so we can find each other.

This is a terrific spot -- easy going, and lots of wildlife. I walked it with my daughter about 3 weeks ago and some of the trails were super muddy, but it'll probably be dried out pretty well by the time you go. Be prepared for wildlife. We saw snakes soaking up the sun, a newt, lots of birds, and were able to stand about 30 feet from a doe and her baby while they nibbled on leaves for about 15-20 minutes. Great photo opportunities. Wish I could go, but I have another commitment that day!
