This is an out-and-back hike of 5.2 miles round trip. It's moderately strenuous because of the overall elevation gain and the distance. The trail winds through meadows, ponderosas, and at certain points parallels a creek. The trail will probably be icy, muddy or snowpacked this time of year so equip yourself accordingly. At the turnaround point, where we will take a break and "check-in" with our bodies, there's views of the Divide and the snow-capped Indian Peaks.
During this hike I encourage you to really pay attention to your bodies. Where do you feel tension? How much energy do you have? What are the signs your body is sending you that you persistently ignore and why? And most of all, how does your body feel in nature?
We'll be hiking mostly in silence except for some discussion times and the last 15 min. of the hike. I estimate this to be a 3 hour hike total, more or less.
DIRECTIONS to trailhead: To get to the Meyers Gulch Trailhead from Boulder, take Baseline Road (west) past Chautaugua Park and up the steep and windy Flagstaff Road for approximately 7 miles. The trailhead will be on your right. If you get to the Walker Ranch Trailhead, you have gone about .5 miles too far. There is plenty of parking, and restrooms are available at the trailhead. We'll meet at the southern lot at the trail kiosk.
