After Work De-Stress Walk

  • August 20, 2012 · 6:00 PM

What stresses you out? Forget all that during this 3 mile silent walk twice around McKay Lake in Broomfield. This is a flat trail with a small cottonwood forest on the perimeter, great views of the mountains and a largish lake. Peaceful, quiet and pleasant.

We'll be doing the walk mostly in silence for relaxation, with the last 20 minutes open for discussion and socializing.

LOCATION: McKay Lake trail, 144th and Zuni in Broomfield. From I-25, exit west on 144th and look for small parking in front of cottonwoods just east of Zuni. From western burbs and Boulder: Take Hwy 287 and then East on Dillon, which turns into 144th Ave. Look for trail parking right east of Zuni. We'll be meeting in the parking lot.

DISTANCE: 3 miles, easy, about 2-3 mph walk. We'll try to be done in an hour.

DONATION: $2 (This is to help reimburse Organizer for monthly MeetUp fee, plus gas and park fees for hikes that involve RMNP, Golden Gate and Boulder County parks with an annual parking permit)

This was a perfect short walk. I love the idea of finding a retreat in nature in town.

Its to help reimburse me for the $12 month fee I pay to meetup to be an organizer, plus some for my gas expenses.

Hello - I joined this group in March but haven't been able to attend a hike yet so I'm not sure about how this works. I am interested in attending this one but I'm curious about the donation for $2? What does that go to? Not that it's a huge amount, I'm just curious.
