Is your organization considering a digital publication? Wonder how a digital workflow differs from print? Not sure what kinds of content work best for digital? See how the content strategists behind Verso, the award-winning digital publication of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, answered those questions—and feel free to ask your own.
Verso: Unveiling the Backstory, an interactive publication for iPad, reaches a tech-savvy generation of arts enthusiasts where they live: untethered to paper, in numerous countries, and seeking greater interactivity with content sources. Our presenters are Kris Thayer, audience engagement strategist and senior designer, Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA) and her colleague, Diane Richard, also an audience engagement strategist and senior writer for MIA. Check out a recent article about Verso and MIA in MSP magazine: http://bit.ly/1auBN7R.
Kris has worked at MIA for seven years. After initiating the creation of Verso, she is now project lead, co-content strategist and designer for MIA's digital publication. Diane has worked at MIA for 10 years; she is the co-content strategist and writer, editor and audio producer for Verso.
Verso gives global viewers a behind-the-scenes look at art and the pursuit of artistic passions using multimedia content, image-rich storytelling, and self-guided exploration. Launched in late 2012, Verso garnered three national/international awards in 2013 and has set a standard for museum publications nationwide.
