Content Strategy - Minneapolis Meetup

Join us March 20 for a content strategy meetup about user testing! Ben Wallace of Link Positive will present on how user testing can influence content.

The event will be held downtown Minneapolis at CoCo MSP. If you haven't been to CoCo already, it's a very cool coworking space operating out of the historic trading floor of the Minneapolis Grain Exchange.

Drinks and snacks will be provided. Please remember to pay $10 via PayPal when you RSVP. Thanks to Nell Kauls and Rohn Jay Miller for organizing this meetup. See you there!

Hey all, thanks for your attendance, attention, discussion.....and patience with both my presentation and my posting of the deck (here is it ). I also uploaded the key summary slide as a photo above, in case you don't want to wade through all the other slides we covered. I concur, Jo, that I could have streamlined and made this much more usable : ). Great how-to tools from Kat in link above!

I haven't seen Ben's slides get posted anywhere yet. Margaret Ostrander and I gave a presentation last year on Guerrilla User Testing to a workshop of 60 librarians. The focus was more on quick and dirty, but highly effective methods that you can execute yourself with little budgetary impact. I think it's a nice compliment to the highly technical methods discussed at the meetup. Our presentation and handouts are posted here:

Has Ben made his slides available yet?

I found the presentation hard to follow. Too much data, way too long, and the presenter didn't answer the question posed at the beginning -- how can user testing inform content strategy. In this talk, user testing was related more to design than content strategy.

Enjoyed the discussion around user testing informing content. Good lead by Ben, and good input from attendees. Loved the video clips Ben shared. Thanks, Ben and all!

Being a usability practitioner, I really had no idea what to expect at my first meetup with this group. I was definitely surprised that the topic of this meetup hit so close to home. It is always interesting seeing how other people conduct user testing, and the discussion that took place throughout and afterward was very insightful.
