Great to see everyone at The Bulldog! Thanks to our new organizers, Renee and Lora, for getting us off to a good start. We had a lot of good discussion about our goals (the WIIFM aspect) and how to move forward with relevant topics and speakers. I heard a desire to 1) invite vendors and sponsors to future meetings to share their tools and expertise, 2) choose a venue that supports speakers needs (e.g., projecting), 3) share job openings and needs with the group, 4) be open to different meeting formats (i.e., lightening rounds for 10-minute topics). Looking forward to the next meeting.

Great meetup- I enjoyed meeting you all. Ann-Marie, you mentioned a book about Apple product development that you're enjoying. Which one was it? Adam Lashinsky's "Inside Apple"? Cheers; I'm looking forward to future gatherings of this group.

Thanks! A nice surprise: it is available on the Nook. This will be great reading for my trip this weekend. Cheers!

    Plans for Tuesday night:

For our first meet-up of the new year we want to hear from you (don’t worry, we’re not going to put anyone on the spot). I’m thinking more like; taking a minute to let anyone share current job openings or opportunities in their vertical. We’ll also gather input from you during a brainstorm of topics and scenarios that you’d like to learn more about this year. After all, this group is about you! *Side note: Please be sure to adjust your RSVP to this event, should you not be able to make it. We are working closely with the Bulldog as they plan staffing needs for the evening. **Side note 2: Remember to pay in advance (via the meet-up site) or come prepared with 5 bucks. Thanks!

Hi Lora. Thanks again for the gathering yesterday. Enjoyed it and look forward to more. Let me know if you need help later for programing stuff. Or help in general.

Hi. It'll cost $5.00 per person this month to pay for appetizers. Please make your payments via this Meetup group. We will check people in at The Bulldog. You're welcome to come at the last minute but please bring $5 with you then. In the future, we'll require payment to RSVP. For this Meetup, we won't refund money if you can't attend but will put it in an account to use toward the costs of a future events. Sometimes we need to pay for space, projectors and the like or guarantee a food minimum.

    Happy 2013 everyone.

Since we have so many new members who've joined in the past few months, I will find a location for a gathering on Tuesday, January 15, most likely in or near downtown Minneapolis. It's time to connect again. I'll figure out the fee shortly - to cover cost of appetizers and we'll buy our own drinks.

If you want to share your know-how with the group through a short presentation, by all means, let me know so we can figure out how to make that work. Low tech please for this month. Interested in a January 15 Meetup? Please let me know. Interested in a certain topic for a future Meetup presentation? Let me know that as well!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
