I am a marketing copywriter, web writer, and budding content strategist. I ran my own copywriting and content consulting business for six years but would like to join an organization or agency to ply my trade. Why? I am a natural collaborator who loves working with cross-functional web and business teams and other like-minded pros.
I've had the opportunity to work on one enterprise content audit, gap analysis, and strategy, and I am looking to take on more projects. As an independent copywriter, I collaborated with web developers and designers on content strategy for small businesses -- but never realized I was a strategist! For the past year, I've delved into larger web projects and boosted my knowledge. There is never a dull moment in this field, which combines creative, strategy, UX, negotiation, project management, and a bit of the technical. Loving it.
As I gain more experience, I hope to share and perhaps even help organize and publish best practices and reviews of tools and methods.
I simply want to rub elbows, have conversations, and share war stories with others who share a passion for content strategy. I also hope to add to the group by volunteering once I get my feet wet and find that the water is warm and fine.

I've been a web writer for about seven years and have lived in Boston or around Cambridge and Somerville most of my life, except for a year in DC. I'm a big live music fan and love to explore -- especially during our all-too-brief sunny months.
It was my first meetup, and I'll definitely attend more. In fact, if you're into content strategy or management, I can't recommend attending more strongly. Margot and Rick were great hosts and brought in top-notch presenters.
