In the past several years, many people have lost faith in home ownership and trust in the real estate market. At 8z, we believe in the value of home ownership and want to rebuild trust in the real estate market and the professionals who serve it.
The Community Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of his/her assigned neighborhood subsites, including generating content, publishing content and supervising staff. The Community Manager should be able to speak about 8z Real Estate’s core values, understand the nature of the Pulse project and its overall goals and be a face for the company both in person and behind a computer screen.
Specific Duties of Position
Oversees the editorial scheduling for his/her assigned area(s)
Meets monthly article submission requirements
Strives to produce the benchmark content goals during the first six months
Supplies original writing
Recruits, hires and trains Pulse Contributors for each Pulse neighborhood
Assigns topics and when necessary and guides NCs toward areas of opportunity
Recruits, hires and trains Freelancers based on locale’s needs
Approves topic ideas (and assigns topics and when necessary) and guides FLs
Reviews, edits and offers comments to improve submissions
Holds contractors accountable for assignments, publishing requirements
Receives, approves and submits invoices for all contractors in their locale
Posts articles to Facebook
Utilizes additional social media avenues to promote articles and community outreach
Attends meetings as needed
Desired Technical Skills:
Uses computer, smart phone and camera regularly
Comfortable with photography and using basic photo editing software
Experienced with updating online content, i.e. blog or website
Familiar with freelance writing and blogging
Experienced with leading a team
Skilled in basic journalism: generating creative topics, researching, interviewing, etc.
Comfortable with e-mail communication
Uses social media
Preferably has a blog
Interest in real estate
Has creative eye for what’s going on in community
Must have easy access or live in the locale in which he/she will be overseeing
Language, tone and attitude that works with 8z's Mission
Personality that embraces the neighborhood
Passion for both community and its real estate market
