COPEing Mechanisms: The Promise and Peril of "Create Once Publish Everywhere"

Join us for an informative evening with Deane Barker, founding partner in Blend Interactive, a content management consultancy in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Deane has spent more than a decade speaking on and writing about web content management systems, methodologies, and practices. We're thrilled that he's making time during his visit to Seattle to talk with us about the idea of COPE (create once, publish everywhere), why we love it, what problems can be introduced when trying to put it into practice in your organizations, and some alternatives and coping mechanisms when the ultimate dream can quite be achieved.

I have pinged Deane again to get a copy of the slides. I'll let you know as soon as he sends them. Sorry for the delay!

Any word on if Deane's deck will be made available?

Will the deck for this be available? I'd love to show other people at my company.

Great, thorough presentation with lots of specifics and real-world experience. My company does some work like this, but we'd never heard of this approach. We appreciated the additional perspective - and to see where other companies might see our work falling within the content process.

Covered a wide swathe related to cost-effective multi-channel publishing. Lots to ponder. Appreciated the straightforward answers during Q&A. Thanks to the organizers.

I won't be able to make it tonight. Aside from SIC hangover I have a dog sitter with a conflicting deadline. Can I get a refund on my ticket?

Bring it on! Being scheduled right in the middle of the Seattle Interactive Conference still won't keep me away.

Wow, didn't even consider that angle. that actually may affect my ability to attend altogether. Urgh!

It will be a long day for SIC attendees, but I'm treating it like a bonus session. A bonus session that is very relevant to my work and interests. :)

We realized the timing is tricky, with the Seattle Interactive Conference also going on next week, but we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity of having Deane in town. Besides being super-knowledgeable, he's a great speaker and I have no doubt that it's going to be a really interesting event.
