Lots of book clubs out there, but I haven't seen any dedicated to reading and discussing some of the more prominent banned and controversial books of the past (or present!). I was thinking of books like Atlas Shrugged, Lady Chatterly's Lover, Invisible Man, The Satanic Verses, etc. It would be interesting to discuss why they were so controversial and whether they still are. Also, what makes a book controversial today? As controversial books tend to be long (another interesting point for discussion!), I was thinking of meeting once every other month. This would also allow people who are already in a book club to concentrate on those others as well. A coffee shoppe or (quiet) bar seems a good place to meet.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
