Global Humanism

"Global Humanism" – Bob Churchill, International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU)
How is Humanism expressed in other parts of the world? What are the issues addressed or faced by humanists in differing regions? And what would a really global Humanism look like? With particular emphasis on the work of IHEU's staff, delegations and national member organisations, Bob will attempt to answer these and any other questions you may have.
Having worked professionally for two national humanist organisations, the British Humanist Association and the Uganda Humanist Association, and lately at IHEU itself, Bob has a unique perspective on "global Humanism". Bob Churchill was the Head of Membership and Promotion at the British Humanist Association, before spending the best part of a year working with the Uganda Humanist Association. He has now taken up a new post at the International Humanist and Ethical Union.

Hi Kris, no worries, I'll answer your question now then. There is a nascent group in Tanzania, I met some of their representatives at a conference in Kampala. Not sure if they're the group based in Dar. Certainly from that meeting I got the impression they faced similar background issues to Uganda in terms of forming a humanist group :-).

Hi Bob, sorry I've had to change my RSVP at the last moment; I did want to hear your talk, perhaps you would message me if you are giving it again. My e-mail is [masked]

I was recently in Tanzania & when asked about humanis was told that there might be a group in Dar but I didn't go to Dar. Do you have any knowledge/experience of what's happening there?

Hi, I'm the speaker! The talk will be similar to one I've given a few times but if there's any questions, anything attendees would like to hear about, in connection with the theme, then do message me or reply here. :-)
