Chopped Challange! Mystery Ingredient TBD

This will be a 'Chopped' style cook-off.  The ingredient will be announced a couple weeks before hand and whoever signs up will have to prepare a dish featuring the mystery ingredient to share with the group.  More details will be added as we get closer to the cook-off.

    I am still bringing what I usually bring tea & some sort of fruit and/or veg salad but will try to reconfigure it into the appetizer category & may try to cook up my extra package of bacon from a previous meet-up & have it on the side with my possible brie contribution. As always, I am bring my tea stuff & some Indonesian ginger candy as well.

    Ok All, it's time to get ready! For this challenge, we are going to divide into three courses - appetizers, main dishes and deserts. I need approximately 8 people on each course. Please update your RSVP to indicate in the comment what you are bringing. First come first serve! Some notes: unlink the TV show chopped, we can't all cook each course at my place. You'll need to bring your food mostly prepared. If you need to do some cooking or prep work at my house, let me know via email so we can coordinate. Also, you should bring everything you need to serve your dish. i'll provide plates and cutlery. Finally, if you don't want to participate in the challenge and you just want to show up to eat, that's fine but please bring a drink to share with the group. The ingredients are listed below in a comment. You can use as much or as little of the ingredient as you need, but it must be included. I'll also send this via email.
