This group cooks elegant and delicious food together using fresh ingredients straight from the Farmer's Market that are grown locally, sustainably, humanely, and taste sublime. We pour premium wines sourced from our extensive private cellar that pair with the meal. No cooking experience required. We provide the wine, recipes, kitchen, and the ingredients that are purchased the morning of the meetup from the Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market.
We will typically meet on Saturday at our home in Burlingame Hills. The menu varies according to what is in season and fresh the day of the meetup. Instruction focuses on the four 'Ps' of cooking: Purchase the best ingredients; Prepare the dishes with care; Present the food beautifully; Preserve the Earth by practicing sustainable and humane behaviors in the food we eat; We work together to cook a gourmet mid-afternoon meal paired with premium wines. Stacy, our hostess, will show us how to entertain with style. Some of the ingredients will be heirloom varieties that are only found at the Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market.
When John has something interesting to share, he will send you an email about what's cooking fresh from the Market, which also gets posted to the Message Board as an archive. These emails include reports about our meetups; what the vendors at the Market are offering at the stalls; and sometimes some cooking tips.
