I like to cook, and I'm recently single. Cooking for "one" is a real drag, and I'm certain there are other people like me out there that feel the same way. So, I've decided to create a Meetup so that groups of singles can cook and dine together. My thinking is that these should be relatively small groups (eight or less), that are evenly balanced with men and women whenever possible. I'm happy to host, and I have a spectacular kitchen to do it in, but as the group gets bigger, I'm sure others will volunteer to host. Ingredients can be coordinated and effectively "dutch" (e.g. you bring the wine and I'll bring the pork roast).
Oh, and I may eventually switch to just asking people to pay $10-$20 to come, but for now, I'm not too worried about buying a few dinners. In part, I think if people pay they won't stand others up. But I also don't want cost to be a barrier, so for now, soup's on me!
