Introduction to Phonegap

In this talk we will cover the basics of mobile application development with Phonegap 3.0, the CLI, plugins and build mechanisms.

We'll discuss how Phonegap works internally, its pros and cons, and especially what type of applications are good candidates for development with Phonegap.

And finally, a special treat for the automation loving pals out there: how to automate your phonegap build process using Grunt.js!

If anyone is developing in Meteor, see http://meteorpedia.com/read/Mobile_support. There are several smart packages for phonegap support available, and note the link near the bottom for the "roundup", which discusses the pros/cons of each approach.

Regarding native UI via Phonegap, it's not released yet but famo.us of course could be an option. Their demo site definitely didn't have a native feel for me, but it's bloody impressive. They're claiming 40-60fps depending on the device, IN PURE JS. http://www.famo.us/

Reminder: in order to get into Google Campus you must (at least officially) be Campus members. Registration is free at Campustelaviv.com.

If the meetup is full, does that mean I shouldn't come since I won't be able to enter or will I be able to join regardless?

We have only 50 seats in the room so I suggest that you don't come unless you reserved a place. However, we'll be happy to see you on our next meetup! :)

IIRC, the limit of 40 was set before the location was changed, and it looks as there is a room for more than 40 in CampusTLV; Is it possible to change this limit?

I changed it to 50, which is the maximum capacity of the room we have at the Campus.
