We'll be demoing the Million Tile Engine (MTE) and Tiled Map Editor.
The engine is pretty cool and allows some advanced effects on 2D tilemap type games, combining the ease of use we've all come to expect in Corona! The Tiled map editor is a free map editor that will export maps into a usable format by MTE.
MTE is $24.99, and looks to be well worth it. More here:
I'm going to focus on simple 2D maps, with limited physics and collision, no Sonic the Hedgehog action from me (But check out their videos if you want to see that in action!)
We're going to be meeting downtown at the World Resources Sim Center on October 5th, Saturday. It will be a weekend so parking shouldn't be too bad. There's an Ace lot a half block north of this location, and I believe it's $6 on weekends, or street parking where you can find it. Bring some change for the meters!
This location has 12 (yes 12!) 60" x 72" high resolution projector screens so we can actually see what's on our laptops screens now! Yeah, bring your own laptop and hook up to one of their projectors! It's pretty neat I have to say.
Hope to see everyone there!
