Part of a New Series Reviewing the Essence of Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche's
"21 Classes on the Essential Points to Cultivating the Buddhist Path"
Wed, September 18 @ 7 pm - 9 pm
“Today you don’t try to understand and analyze your life. You are impelled to many different situations but the mind isn’t sharp and able to discriminate and understand your life, so you use a cold and numb attitude to observe it. Why? Because you haven’t found your life’s true value or meaning. Very quickly time can run through the gaps of your fingers. Your recognitions and understanding of your situation has mistakes, and the view doesn’t match the true reality. If you find your life’s value, what you can truly achieve to benefit yourself and others, then you’ll have great motivation and be able to have great power and great efficiency in what you try to accomplish.”
“Ignorance, or lack of understanding reality, can impel you to the 12 links of dependent origination and result in the different types of rebirths. Ignorance is the root of all the afflictions and habits that control your mind. Originally your mind has the wisdom to know all the answers, know how to discriminate between benefits self and others and what hurts self and others, but your mind was covered and became numb. Buddha’s teaching is the ultimate method. The ultimate holy medicine to clean the mistaken concepts. These profound teachings can change your current situation and help you to control your future outcomes.”
– Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche
Please join us as we discuss:
· What are some of the other kinds of rebirths that we have had? Have we been born in even more suffering and pleasurable rebirths than this one? What is meant by Samsara, the cycle of existence? What is the problem of this cycle of existence?
· What benefit does Buddhist cultivation have for our current life and our future lives? What does it mean to be a pure Buddhist cultivator, and why does this matter so much?
We welcome all to join us for a discussion of the teachings of our lama, Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche. We learn the essence of Buddhist practice and apply it to ourselves so we can slowly remove the causes of all suffering and increase the causes of true and lasting happiness. We can have a profound impact on our life and the lives of others.
