Announcing a new Meetup for Philosophy ,Cosmology & Quantum Mechanics!

What: "The Mysterious Properties of Black Holes!"

When: Sunday, August 29,[masked]:00 PM

Price: GBP2.00 per person

Where: Salon Gallery
1A Hollybush Place, E2 opposite Bethnal Green Tube

These unusual and amazing regions of space, created from the collapse of stars several times the size of our Sun and beyond, are so dense that their gravity stops even light from escaping.

It is theoretically possible, for example ,(in the case of spinning and charged black holes) to pass through them and (supposing we somehow survive the trip) appear in another space and time. Some black holes orbiting with "normal" stars, pull off gas and create enormous bursts of gas, particles and X-rays that can be seen from Earth. Supermassive black holes are thought to exist in the centre of our Galaxy and nearly all others, and this can cause incredible effects such as high energies and brightness (i.e. quasars) and jets of gas and particles extending far beyond the galaxy itself (i.e. M87).

These objects are among the strangest and most compelling objects in our universe, and this talk and discussion is one not to be missed!

Want to learn about the fundamental building blocks of our universe, their amazing properties and the impact of this on lives today? The concepts derived from Quantum Mechanics, the study of the behaviour of the fundamental particles and energies of nature , have been imperative in the shift in understanding of our universe from one of determinism to uncertainty, probability and observation - where objects can no longer be measured exactly but exist throughout Space and Time.

We also look into Black Holes , along with determining the Universe?s beginning and possible end. .

Quantum Physics also appears to spark off in Physics, Cosmology, Philosophy and Spirituality.

This group consists of talks, meetings and debates from the intelligent layman's point of view. Meetings will remain easy-going, fun and informative. All people are invited, whether they be interested in purely the scientific or the philosophical discussions around this amazing science. Feel free to attend however much you know or don?t know
