A regular friendly cinema group for cosmopolitan black & multicultural Londoners based in South London.
Enjoy the movies, have some light hearted banter and meet new fascinating people! We seek out the latest, original, sharp, challenging and humorous black films and world cinema features; as well as independent films, documentaries and the odd unmissable Hollywood blockbuster. We also attend special screenings with post-film discussions and Q&A’s sessions with directors and cast.
The group is for ages 24-38, although those younger or older who feel an affinity with this age range are welcome to attend. This group is for black and “ethnic” people – we use ethnic broadly to cover a full spectrum of ethnicities and cultures. Regardless, if you’re a cosmopolitan minded guy or gal with a fondness for exploring other cultures through film then you’re welcome to come along and get involved!
Ritzy Picture House located in the heart of Brixton is the main venue for watching movies. We’ll also take advantage of other local cinemas for one-off features and must watch movies. Ritzy is a fantastic independent cinema with a buzzing bar area to meet pre-and-post feature to have a laugh and dissect movies. If watching a movie elsewhere we’ll arrange suitably friendly bars or coffee shops to meet.
