Prop Creation Workshop

If anyone would be interested, I would like to host a workshop concentrating on prop creation. I run a side business for cosplay props (And won a couple of awards in the area), so I thought I might share what I can about what I've learned over the years. If anybody else has any tips or suggestions, I always like learning those too!

I'd try to cover an assortment of things, such as foam carving, resin coating, resin casting (both small and large pieces), Wonderflex, adding LEDs to a costume, carving, painting and aging techniques, construction options and techniques, some general tips, and answering any questions anybody might have.

I plan to bring examples of all I can and bring some materials to be able to give people a chance to try or at least see some of the materials in action.

I'm not an absolute professional, but I hope I can be helpful! If there are any areas you'd really like to know more about, please suggest them and I can see if I can include them.

Had a great time. Drove 2 1/2 hours to attend. Got lots of notes and thanks for handout with websites for supplies. New to formal prop creation.

Where can you get this "worbla" that I've seen cosplayers using? Is it at your local Michael's and other craft stores, or is it a specialty order item?

Nope! You can bring pen and paper to make a couple of notes, if you like, but nothing other than that. If you have a specific prop you'd like to tackle in the near future, you can bring a picture of that and I can try to offer some advice.

I am actually RVSPing for my son who is into Cosplay. He is 22 yrs old and has Aspergers. I am trying to get him more interested in some more advanced Cosplay. He's very talented and creative, just trying to help him find his niche. He's a huge MomoCon and AWA attendee. So hoping he will be able to meet some new friends and network a little. :)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
