Cosplay group meetups

Hey everyone!

I’ve been a terrible organizer and I know our group hasn’t had many Meetups. I’d like to schedule one or two of your guys’ ideas posted on the site, but I need a bit more help from some of you, so the following are the ideas I would like to help form into Meetups, but need help from members:

Idea #1: Costuming-get together, aka craft/sewing workshop.

This was a suggestion that we work on costumes together and hang out. If we do this, would someone be willing to host this at their house? Or if we have a smallish group, we may be able to have it at a Starbucks/coffee shop, but will be limited to doing things we can do by hand/not large projects or one that uses a sewing machine. I am ok with either, but wanted to call that to attention.

Let me know if you can be a host, or if you know a good location for such an event.

Idea #2: Photo shoot:

The original poster suggested photographers and cosplayers converging to work together. I need to know if you are a photographer that wants to do this type of event, and if any of the photographers have a studio. If studios are not an option, no worries: There are also tons of on location areas I know of that are great for cosplay shoots in the Atlanta area.

Idea #3 Sewing workshop:

This was my Meetup idea, and I am still working on it. I just need to pinpoint a location that would work, since it has the same challenges as the first idea: needing space and sewing machines. I also have a couple of experienced cosplayers who I am talking with now about helping me host, so I will get back to you all about it! If any of you have a location suggestion, I’m all ears! =)

Thanks guys! Please feel free to email me--- the more feedback, the better! And just be patient with me on replies, that’s the part I’m terrible at, but I promise I read them and use your wonderful input!  =)
