Tired of All the "Green-Washing"?
Information Overload?
Don't Want to Shop Solar Alone?
Located in the city of Cotati, The Sonoma County Renewable Energy Consumer Discussion Group is a self-moderated consumer advocacy group who want to escape the "green hype" and propaganda surrounding renewable and sustainable energy choices, like solar, wind, hydro, fuel cell, water conservation, energy efficiency and more. Instead, we seek impartial answers to relevant and timely questions in order to gain the insight needed to make informed decisions long before entering the market to make a purchase. We're on our OWN side!
We INVITE interested individuals; residential, multi-residential, and commercial and industrial property owners to attend our informal and relaxed education gatherings. Every month our group will hold a two hour discussion lead by:
- 1. An experienced guest energy consultant or other industry specific professional, or
- 2. By our own group, chossing a specific topic to research and critically discuss.

Greetings! In 2008 I began a business to market an environmental cause that I could feel passionate about every day; helping to promote sustainable and renewable energies within my community. I wanted to identify a need with a FREE buyer representation and consumer advocacy service, where buyers, retailers, local commerce and the environment would benefit one another at complementary levels:
energy efficiency
cleaner energy choices
stimulating commerce
furthering consumer advocacy
enabling a sustainable and local economy
What you can expect at one of our meetings!
Thinking about "going solar", but don't know where to begin??? Our group will cover the ABC's of going solar and what it means to be fiscally, emotionally and logically prepared to make this type of investment. Assessing you needs, values, and expectations are of vital importance! Investing into an energy efficient project, solar project or other renewable energy undertaking requires careful consideration of several factors. Not unlike buying a first home, one of the first things to establsih is pre-qualification of certain criteria. Is your project qualified to go solar?
Finacially feasible?
Legally permissible?
Maximally productive?
How long do you plan on staying in your home or business? Do you require a new roof to support solar equipment? Is your property energy IN-efficient? What separates high end from median end equipment? Warranty? Cash flow? Internal rate of return? Lost opportunity on capital? Energy payback and more. And, silly as it seems to ask; "why" do you want to go solar? This, any many other elements will go into your due diligence and decision making process long before you resolve to even begin shopping for solar.
Come Join Us!
Sign up for one our relaxed and informal group meetings! Admittance is $5.00 to cover administration costs. All we ask is that you arrive with a sincere interest to learn, stay on topic and ask relevant questions so that you and others can learn from the experience. This is a "no filibuster", no grandstanding, low ego zone. Unless previously organized for a food gathering, please make sure to bring a non alcoholic beverage and a snack for your own needs. The meeting place is yet un declared, so please wait for contact on the location "to be announced". Most meetings will take place in the city of Cotati and with no less than a four person gathering.
