Come tour St. George Spirits distillery!

  • Needs a date

  • St. George Spirits

2601 Monarch Street, Alameda, CA (map)

  • (Date TBD, but we'll aim for a Friday evening or weekend - let us know in the comments if you have a preference)

Do you enjoy some alcohol in your science (or vice versa)? Love the steampunk esthetics of a proper copper still? Come join us for our first Counter Culture Labs science meetup: a tour of St. George Spirits in Alameda, makers of Hangar One vodka, and one of the few artisan distilleries in the Bay Area.

Tours provide an overview of the production area, with the chance to view the stills, fermentation tanks, barrel storage, and bottling line. Your friendly and knowledgeable spirit guide will explain our production process and equipment, engage in a little absinthe myth-busting, and reveal why there's a shark in the hangar.

Tours include a complimentary tasting of the spirits, as well as a Basic Training dog tag that is yours to keep.

Tastings are guided experiences designed to help you learn how to approach and appreciate spirits. Each tasting includes a selection of our artisanal gins, whiskey, bourbon, vodka, absinthe, rum, brandies, and liqueurs—all made onsite!

The tour and tasting experience lasts approximately one hour. We'll plan to have some snacks and do some brainstorming on food (and booze!) related biohacking afterwards.

Fee for the tour is $15, payable on site. All tours and tastings are 21 and over. Valid ID is required.
