Know your way around a laboratory, and would like to put those skills to good use for the environment? Let's join our friends, Nerds for Nature, for their Project Night at Sudo Room.
We would especially love to see those of you that have some technical skills to contribute (wetlab or bioinformatics), to do some brainstorming and check what skills and expertise we have to offer them. We're especially looking for people with expertise in DNA barcoding of plants and/or animals, 16S sequencing of isolates and microbial consortia, testing of water for bacterial contamination, testing of bioaerosols, etc.
We'll probably have a combined Counter Culture Labs / Nerds for Nature meetup sometime in the near future, to develop concrete joint projects. This week we're just piggy-backing on their meeting - they'll be working on air quality monitors, bioblitz program, SF green map, water atlas, and more!
Please RSVP for the project night through Nerds for Nature. You can also sign up for their mailing list.
