Synthetic Biology, Biohacking and Vegan Cheese - iGEM team meeting

Counter Culture Labs and our sister lab BioCurious in Sunnyvale are putting together a team for iGEM - the 10th international Genetically Engineered Machine competition. iGEM has been the premier breeding ground for synthetic biologists, and this is the first year they will also be accepting Community / DIYbio labs.

The topic we've chosen for our project is Vegan Cheese, expressing casein proteins in yeast - check out our wiki!

Feel free to come check us out, whether you are already part of the iGEM team or not. We're hoping to actually get work done in these meetings, so we will likely not give an extensive introduction to any newbies, but you're more than welcome to sit in and absorb some biohacking-in-action.  This is your opportunity to join a working iGEM team.

For now, we will be meeting every first Monday of the month at BioCurious, and the other Mondays in Oakland.

Hi team, I'm still stuck in San Jose and may likely not be able to make it. My apologies in advance.

Doh! Any chance you might be able to join us remotely for a little while? We'll have a video session running over zoom.us (details above), plus a chat session in the meeting notes. It would be really useful to have your input on this topic.

I don't have my computer, but I'm going to dial in if that works. Let me know otherwise. Thanks.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
