Counter Culture Labs Message Board › Join the Board!
|A former member||
Hello CCL Meetup Community,
As you may have heard, CCL will be voting in board members on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. You’ll hear more about the candidates and voting this weekend. In the mean time, what about you? Would YOU like to be on the board at Counter Culture Labs?
As a board member, it would be your mission to safeguard the principals of DIYbio and open science. Steer the ship towards inclusivity, transparency and fair sharing of toys/equipment/ideas. Be a sure-shot trouble shooter able to wrangle logistics into a solid platform that fosters our best work and never intrudes on rampant creativity, learning and (thunder clap) Science. Said wrangling requires face time with your fellow board members, i.e. fearless, faithful attendance at a large percentage of meetings.
The board is responsible (and in some cases liable) for the financial health of the lab. When that next brilliant idea is brainstormed by the group and the excitement is zinging, each person bright-eyed and alive with curiosity and the will for empiricism, they will only have the tools they need if you planned for them. It will only work if you wrote grants, passed hats large and small, launched projects and reached into your own wallet. It’s a big responsibility, true. But you know what we are capable of and you want to do everything in your power to make it happen.
If you’re in, email firstname.lastname@example.org with your vision/kind of tasks you want to take on in the group and what has best prepared you thus far for the mission. A more specific list of CCL board member activities is here.
Bio + preferred strategy are due no later than Tuesday October 8th at midnight. The earlier you infiltrate the better you will be known, which greatly increases your probability of success.
Are you totally in, but maybe more at the committee/project level? Excellent – CCL needs you. Feel free to join our google group where much of the backstage planning happens, or just come by a working or general meeting!
