This is going to be an early one folks. The sun rises at 7:13 and I'm going to be there at 6:45 with my tripod, polarizing filter and ND filters ready to capture it. We will have a low tide from 7:32 till just after 11:00 allowing us to continue our journey along the beach. Early morning is the best time to catch those elusive Heron and there are always Eagles and Sea Gulls of various varieties. At low tide we will also see some Star Fish and Hermit Crabs. This beach is always so lively.
Dress warm, there will more than likely be a brisk breeze blowing into us off the water. Wear water proof hikers or gum boots, don't want to get wet feet right off!
We will be meeting at the Boat launch right on Lazo Rd. There is ample parking and the Launch itself is a great place to set up our tripods and get that Sunrise!
Afterwards we will be adjourning to the Smitty's Pancake House on Comox Ave. right across the street from the Mall.
PS. Today is also Daylight Savings so don't forget to set your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed Saturday night.
