This is a teaching coven that is open to accepting new seekers who are interested in delving deeper into the Craft. This coven is part of Silver Ravenwolf's Sacred Order of the Black Forest and is a mix of Celtic and Germanic practices. We are a Traditional Wicca with a focus on healing work and an interest in other magical traditions.
This coven is for students 21 and over who are experienced in the Craft (either solitary or coven environment) and are wishing to pursue coven-based training. One must have at least one year's experience of solid solitary practice of the Craft to be considered for Dedication. However, if you have no experience at all outside of reading books, but would still like to discern if a Traditional style of coven work is for you, we are happy to help you with book recommendations and answer any questions in this regard at the Meetups.
While we are a serious and committed teaching coven we are also a family oriented group which likes to have fun, spend time together growing and learning, having game nights and going on yearly trips to places such as Arkansas, Colorado, and Pennsylvania.
Who should join?
If you think that you may be seeking traditional coven life and growth in a familial group structure, request to join and fill out the questionnaire. If you are accepted into the Meetup group understand that it doesn’t mean you are accepted into the coven itself, as this is an outer-court group and a traditional vetting process. Once accepted please read through the BFC FAQ’s file, which is listed in the Files section of the Meetup Page. This is required reading. These FAQ’s are discussed monthly and will help to answer any questions you may have.
Members of the CoJT Meetup are asked to attend the monthly meetup in order to get to know everyone and to give us a chance to get to know you. (Please make use of the RSVP feature as this helps us maintain a manageable headcount.) If you are nott interested in coming to a meetup once a month, please reconsider your reasons for joining this group (and a coven for that matter), as this group does require participation. Members who become inactive will be removed, as it will be assumed that you have found another path more suited to yourself.
More on Coven Life: If you are unfamiliar with covens or perhaps don’t know what to expect, please feel free to ask. Many don’t know what to expect or what life is like once they’ve made their decision to seek out a formal education in a Wiccan Tradition. This involves dedication and commitment. This isn’t a church, it’s clergy training with the commitment to be a spiritual leader, and this comes with responsibility. That being said, we like to have fun with good food, good people and enjoy life!
