I want to set up a camping trip sometime soon. Tents, fire, beer, beer, beer, hopefully someplace with some water. I'm not too familiar with the area. I know there's lake lewisville and sneaky Pete's is there which is nice. Not too sure on the whole camp areas there though. Then theres Grapevine lake which is very close. Looking for some suggestions. Trying to feel you guys out to see who would like to go. Some of my best memories were made camping and hanging out with friends! I think we would have a blast camping, fishing, drinking, swimming, smores, lol etc..

Any thoughts??

I am up for this...

If you like mountain biking there's Bar-H ranch northwest of Denton off US 82 that charges $6/tent, $5 land access, and has no rules on bonfires or beer. I highly recommend it.

For water fun, any of the state parks can be good. I've got a state park pass for this very purpose. So many choices. It depends on how primitive you like your camping. I think a covered pavilion at Lake Texoma runs less than 20 (if I recall from when I was coordinating another event for another meetup group last year).

No matter what you decide, count me in. This sounds like a good excuse to get away.

I'd be up for that. Possum Kingdom is pretty cool. They have cabins and "primitive" camp sites.

Here is the Texas State Parks website.

Also, there are outfitters west of Fort Worth that rent canoes on rivers and will pick you up at some spot. You can camp along the river. Best to do this after some rain because trying to paddle low rivers SUCKS.

We'd love to go! David has a lot of knowledge of the outdoors, fishing, some camping gear... he's like MacGuyver... just give him 2 toothpicks and a piece of gum and we're good to go!

Joe Pool Lake is another close option with a State Park. I love to camp!

I am new to this group and I have been checking out the old MB for ideas on what your group like to do, Please tell me I didn't miss the campout!!!!

I am a Casino Coordinator out of Dallas and would love to set this group up for a private charter to Oklahoma Casinos.

E-mail me for details,

No you didnt miss out! I have been in the process of moving and I thought when all of the dust clears from that I would plan it. I cant wait to do this! I have gotten tons of emails on suggestions on which lake to use. We need some low key place that isnt going to give us crap for drinking in a state park. Course they might not even say anything in Texas :)

I figure I am going to set something up within the next week or so. I expect everyone to make this one too!! LOL

I just found this info...http://www.southtexas.... They give guided tours on the Guadalupe.

If we can't do it now...maybe sometime after Labor Day would be good. I bet it would still be warm enough. ..we could rent a cabin or a cottage instead of camping out.

Count me in whatever we plan!
