Introduction

Hi! My name is Emrie and I recently moved to Portland. I am a writer, a reader, and a mother. I am looking to find a group of others like me to spend some time with!

What's your writing background and what are you working on?

My writing background consists of writing for my own pleasure and practice and sometimes turning short stories in for contests. I am currently in a groove with my writing. I started a novel at the beginning of the year and I just passed I finally took the quote "write the book you want to read" to heart and I think it's paying off.

What do you hope to get out of the group?

I hope to meet enjoyable, like minded people to spend some quality time with.

What's your favorite kind of book?

This is a difficult question and the answer changes from year to year. I used love the long, in depth world that the classics created for me, but these days, with a rambunctious two year old underfoot I love a quick fun read that draws me in and has me laughing. My recent favorite series has been the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. I also enjoy non-fiction based around human psychology- why do we do whatever it is we do?
