Taste free craft beers and then go to nice Tavern nearby

Free tasting of craft microbrews from Connecticut:
At 1pm to 3pm is tasting of the superb Thomas Hooker beers
and 3pm to 5pm is tasting of the well rated City Steam beers, in the charming Craft Brew Cellar, downtown Winchester.
So I suggest meet there at 2:30pm to get a taste of both breweries !
Located downtown Winchester, next to the Commuter Rail Station, plenty of free parking all around the area and right on the route 134 bus line. Winchester is only about 4 miles north of Cambridge.
There is the Black Horse Tavern, on the corner of the same street, that has an excellent "Black Horse Ale" from the Berkshire Brewing Co. (MA) for $5 inc. if anyone fancies a pint afterwards. They also have a great selection (12 drafts) and are happy to let customers try samples.

Sorry - Just as I was getting ready to take the (maybe) 2 minute walk over to the store on Saturday, I had something unexpected come up. How dare those family responsibilities get in the way of either volleyball or beer...

This was a great time, good turnout. The store and staff are terriffic, as were the brewery guys. I loved the imperial and the brown ale, most memorable. Then a great pint at the Hearthstone Bar. Never been there cool place.

The (good) beers available on tap at any particular point in time are quite variable at both the Black Horse and the Stone Hearth Pizza company restaurant just around the corner - but usually one of them will have a beer to your liking... And the staff at the craft beer store are quite knowledgeable and helpful, and they have a ton of local brews, including many I didn't even knew existed yet! Plus you can mix and match your 6 packs so you are free to try all sorts of different beers (I don't think I've ever walked out of there without spending at least $50, but I'm not complaining...)

Well the BBC Tavern Ale is a dark ale and very nice for this time of the year. I had one a week ago there and it was $5.35 inc. tax for a 20 ounce pint. Where are you gonna match that? ;-)
