Do you like making things by hand? I'm looking for crafty members who would like to get together to chat, share and get a bit done with handmade projects around Greater DC. I like making things in all sorts of media and would love to share with more people!
All skills and skill levels are welcome: whether you knit, sew, crochet, origami, scrapbook, embroider, quilt, mend clothes, make jewelry or anything else, I hope you will find a new home in this group.
We are now meeting monthly at a dedicated crafting space in SCRAP DC, a creative reuse center (like a thrift store for arts and craft supplies) in Brookland (NE). We have a workroom with large tables and seating! There's a microwave if you'd like to heat up some tea or your dinner, and a fridge as well.
SCRAP is closed for business on Tuesdays, but I open the workroom for crafting at 6:30, and we stay until 8:30 or so. Lights will probably be off in front, come in through the side door on Irving Street (next to the parking pad) and we'll be there. Bring your own project, materials or supplies; if you'd like to shop at SCRAP to supplement what you bring, you are welcome to do so as well!
