Welcome, Brisbane Crafters!

Meet other local people who like to do all sorts of sewing, including garments, home decorations and crafts. I find Its great to do craft for ourselves and I find its even greater when I give my craft projects to others. Keeping with this theme I expect to obtain part of our craft supplies from donations. I'll be contacting various organisations for bits and pieces. With these donations we would create a set of garments or other craft projects to donate to a charity to give to those in need or that charity can raffle/auction the items for funding. If you're a novice I have a few people I know in various crafts who would love to pass on their knowledge.
Of course if you just want to do your own projects and want a bit of company that's ok too. Just join in!
This group also fits in with my idea of sustainablity and community. The more we can make for ourselves the less we are dependant on imports and dictates of what is available in the shops. In today's society so many people feel alone and isolated. The more people we get to meet and join up with, the more we develop a sense of belonging.
