Torborg suggested we make these adorable upside down terrariums (thank you, Torborg!); she found a tutorial for them and they look amazing (see the event photo). A terrarium is basically a mini-ecosystem, which is supposed to be able to sustain itself with little to no watering once it's been set up.
Check it out here:
I love how these particular ones are made from upside down jars...ingenious!
What you'll need:
- Clean glass jar(s) - think empty jam jars, mustard jars, tomato sauce jars...etc
- Moss + a bit of dirt (check florists, garden stores, or even sidewalks, rock walls, or other shady areas around the city)
- any added decorations you'd like to dress up your ecosystem: small plants, flowers, clover, knick knacks (tiny garden gnomes or flamingos, anyone??), etc
