Elixir with Abdul Habra

Elixir is a functional language on top of Erlang VM. It has a pleasant syntax influenced by Ruby. It supports pattern matching, meta-programming, polymorphism, and all of Erlang OTP.

I will attempt to introduce the language and its ecosystem including the repl, compiler, unit testing, and build tool. Additionally, I will show some of the neat feature in the language like pattern matching and concurrency.

Most of these will be "code-driven" rather than just slides.

About Abdul Habra:
I have been programming daily for about 30 years. I enjoy playing-with/learning/creating/programming languages. @ahabra

Elixir puts a friendly wrapper on Erlang which makes it much more accessible to the average programmer.

I also have a conflict with this date, but this sounds like a great topic.

Man I really wish I could see this. I"m really interested in hearing more about Elixir. Sadly out of town on the 3rd.
